Why Overlook Sports?!

Playing recreational or competitive sports is the easiest, most fun way to get a cardio or full body workout in. This is my main cardio escape and I find it works great. Soccer is my favorite but I tend to join in on whatever I can. If my friends are going to play basketball, even though I am brutal, I still tag along and get great exercise. The point I am making is these types of activities provide great workouts and are a great deal of fun at the same time. Give it a sample because I think you will be delightfully surprised. Try new things and see how they work. Haha, I hated baseball with a passion, after playing some slow pitch with my friends, I actually enjoy going out and swinging for the fences now!!

Ready, Set... GO!!

How is everyone doing tonight? So today was the day it all started. Dave started his workouts!

I will go into a little bit of detail about some of the things he is doing to help accomplish his goal.

He is doing a weight program 3 times a week. Whatever muscle he is working, he will do 3 sets of 12 reps. By doing this regiment, it creates a base of muscle but doesn't bulk up. It makes a toned muscle, not a bulky muscle. Dave's program is an over all body workout, so he does a little bit of each muscle, not where he is just focusing on a certain area. After weights he finishes his workout with 20 minutes of cardio, now it has to be 20 mintues so he will go at whatever pace he wants so he can achieve that time.

On a day where he doesn't do weights, Dave will do a 45 - 60 cardio workout. Just cardio, no weights. Again, he will go at a pace where by he can finish the whole time. In no time, he will be able to step up his pace and/or time.

Now any day of the week, preferably on a day where he is doing no other working out, Dave is gonna do some type of sport. Now he won't be doing this at a high level or intense rate. This will be great to loosen his body up and keep him active. It works nice as a stress release and down time. So there you have it, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email or leave a comment. Dave really liked all those inspirational emails you all sent, Thank you.

So I talked about Daves weight program, the reason I didn't go into detail on what exactly he was doing is because everyone is different. It would be something to get information about. Getting a workout plan from a professional always works best because they can get you going in the right direction. A place I highly recommend for getting a program for any skill level is - Workout Pass - this place has over 100000 workouts for anything you need. So thats all for today. Take It Eas!!

Starts Tomorrow

So I have some more information on Dave and his routine. What he is trying to go for is a bit of everything. He is going to ease into everything for starters. Doing this he will limit the chance of injury. The basics of this routine are this; go to the gym 3 times a week, main cardio one day, and a sport another day. The days he goes to the gym he will put in about 20mins of cardio as well. It seems pretty simple and straight forward, and is, but he needs to get in to a committed schedule. Tomorrow I will explain more in depth what he enjoys to do for exercise, cardio, and sports functions. See you then!

I Finally Got The Pictures

So, I have been talking about how my friend Dave wanted to lose some weight and fit up a little. Well I finally talked him into letting me take a couple of pictures. I have 2 pictures total of how he looks right now today. Over his progress, we will take more pictures to track how much different he will look in when he reaches his final goal. He is 250 lbs right now and wants to be back at his highschool weight of just over 200lbs.

So now that I have taken the pictures, Dave and I are going to sit down and go over what he will do to acheive this goal. I will be posting everything all within the next couple of days. We will go over what he plans to do for a workout, and cardio and fitness things he plans on doing, and of course what type of eating he will assume. Please feel free to give him some pointers and comments.

Everyone knows the ups and downs that trying to lose weight can bring, we will also try and keep a close log on Dave and his attitude and feelings. I am confident he will do it 100%.

If you are looking for a program of any sort for yourself then I highly recommend this site - Workout Pass - this site is amazing and has ton of different workout and fitness plans. You will find everything you are looking for and much more!

Goodness for Men

Weight loss for a man isn't really too different then weight loss for a woman. When it comes down to it, all of the same things are entailed, it's just guys usually have different habits then the ladies. What we are going to talk about right now are the few things that you can start doing that will increase your success level for weight loss.

Bad habits will have to die hard in order to succeed in this health race. Most of us know the habits I am talking about, but for those who don't, I will list a couple off as examples. Fast food lunches instead of home made lunches, and another is drinking beer. Now, I'm not saying you need to cut them out all together, just try and limit them. A way to help limit the habits is having better alternatives around. Like I said above, pack a lunch for work, if you have one made there will be no reason to go get fast food. Usually a lot of our unhealthy choices come from not being prepared and organized.

This brings us to our next topic, be organized. No, this doesn't mean that if you have a clean organized home you will lose weight. What I mean is that having stuff written down and getting certain things prepared will help you succeed. Have the health and fitness related things that you want accomplished written down on paper. If you are going to make lunches for yourself everyday in the week, make sure and be prepared enough to have all the food you will need to make those lunches. You are probably thinking, well this stuff is easy. The truth is that weight loss for a man is easy. In order to make it work though, you need to be consistent.

Which takes us to our last point, stay committed and positive. You may not see results within a week, don't get discouraged. If you stay committed and keep a positive mind the results will come. Use these simple concepts and you will find yourself on the road to good health and feeling better. There will be days where you feel you need junk food, or you think that eating healthy is too hard. Days like those are where you need to take control and follow through with what you want to accomplish and achieve. Stay positive and you will see the results you are looking for.

The majority of all people over look the final thing I would like to share. Again, it is something very simple, but can also affect the weight loss for a man. Water! Try and drink your daily body requirements of water. Your body will thank you for it.

It's Called Water, Try Some!!

This is gonna be pretty short tonight, I am exhausted and it is 1:15 am. It's been a long day.
For tons of great information and knowledge about losing weight and having the body and health you want I recommend the book Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle - great for all aspects of getting fit.

So tonights post is about water intake. The majority of people don't get their daily requirements when it comes to water intake. This has a lot to do with thought process. Have a water bottle with you. Drink water instead of the many other things we sip on. 8 cups is what the average person should consume in a day. This is average. If you are doing fitness and sports then it will definatley increase your need for more water. You will notice the different and it makes a huge impact on a healthy body. Don't starve your body of the water it needs. It's to easy to do, SO DO IT!!

Talk to you all again soon. Drink Up

Reflecting On A Day

First I would like to start off by tell you about a great Affirmation Goal Setting Motivational Software - Affirmations Software - Sculptor3. - It works well on your computer to help set goals and really motivate a person to follow through and be successfull. Check it out.

Now I have beening trying something out myself recently. I have been writing my daily food on paper at the end of each day. What this has done for me is, it really shows me everything I ate. It sounds odd, but until I saw it on paper, I never was really bothered to worry about it. Seeing it now give me the chance to see and realize where I can change some things for the better. I also have kept them for refference for later on.

This is something that I am going to keep doing and I will even post one of my daily food intakes on the blog here soon. You all can see how I eat and maybe some things I should change.

Until next time my friends, take care!

Update on Dave and a Quick Recipe

So I am still trying to get Dave to give me a picture. I should have one within a day or two. He got a great general weight lifting program from Workout Pass. If your looking for a program of any sort they are the pros, they have over 100000 different programs.

Over the next few days, Dave is going to figure out and put on paper his routine. He is going to be doing some weight lifting, cardio fitness, sports fitness, and try eating healthy. I am hoping by this weekend I will be able to post more of what he plans to do and how much he plans to do.

Dave is going to try and base his routine on how much time the average person would spend. He is feeling pretty confident and positive about all of this. Lets Talk Mind Set

You have probably heard, in many areas of life, that writing things out will help you acheive them. I touched on it a little bit with my last post, so now I talk about it some more. It's a fact, when you write on paper what you want, you have a higher percent of success.

Many people don't know where to start. Well that should start to change after all of this. Start out by trying it with little things that have to do with health or fitness. Like I stated in my last post, I wrote out when I was going to workout in a week. Boy did that help me accomplish it. As you feel more comfortable with writing your goals out om paper, they will come more freely.

For those of you that are really finding this hard, there is some software that can really help you out. It's called Affirmations Software - Sculptor3. What is, is Affirmation Goal Setting Motivational Software, For Improved Mental/physical Health, Personal Growth. I can help any indivdual beginner or experienced for improving those skills.

I will get even more into the mental part of getting helathy in later posts, so for now that should get those pens writing. Have fun with it!

Bye

Motivation Can Be Tough

This will be a short but sweet post. Pretty much outlines my way of thinking.

I know for myself, it can be tough to follow through with things I have set up for myself. Lack of motivation is easily my biggest downfall when it comes to going to the gym and working out. When I get to the gym, it's great, it's getting there that is the tough part. What I have done to help my problem is write out my plans and times. If I want to go to the gym 3 times a week, I will write out on paper the 3 days I will go. The only way to make this work is, of course, to follow through with it 100% of the time. Stick to those plans no matter what you will eventually get better and better with it.

Over time, this has helped me be consistant with my gym time. Still, sometimes I feel it's a chore. Now though, the majority of the time I have the drive to go and get fit!!

Fill me in on things you all do to keep motivated, I would love to hear somemore awesome ideas! Talk to ya again soon.

A Little Follow Along

Recently a friend of mine, Dave, was told about a book called Burn the Fat, Feed the Muslce. He is 25 and is about 250 pounds. His goal is to be his highschool weight of about 210 lbs. What we are going to do is try and follow his progress. I am hoping he will let us use pictures and things.

Dave had heard from a number of different readers of Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, that it really helped and informed them of the many important things involved in being successful in achieving weight goals. He has wanted to lose the pounds for a couple years now, but has never put an honest effort forth to really give it a try.

If you want to see an overview of what comes with the book use this link here - Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle

So every so often I will be giving you a Dave Update. Goodluck Dave, show us all how it's done buddy!!

And I'm Back BABY!

Some Healthy Alternatives

Howdy,

Today will be short but sweet! I am going to list a few healthy alternatives that I use for some junk foods that I use to eat. Please feel free comment on other alternatives that you have.

For bread, instead of using regular bread, I use the weight watchers whole wheat bread. It's whole wheat which is better then white of course and they come in thinner slices.

With snacks I use really anything healthy that I enjoy. Keep that unhealthy food out of the house. Fruits, vegetables, muffins, things like that.

Lettuce is good no matter what, but try and use the lettuce that is dark green. Romane Lettuce is the best to use, it give the body the most nutrients.

Those are just a few off the top of my head. I will keep trying to add to that list as we go along. There are many great books to help you in trying to find healthy foods and alternatives. Places also great programs and books to help you to easily figure out meal plans. A site that I have heard produce great results is Meal Plans 101. It really makes creating healthy meal plans easy.

Something For Those Abs

Hey there, good to see you again.

One thing we all have in common is, we all want a flat stomach. If your male, you want a nice six pack. If your female, you want a tight, tonned, flat stomach. So today I am going to quickly talk about some things that can help you acheive that dream stomach. The one thing that people don't realize is that everyone has a nice tonned flat stomach, but the problem is the layer of fat over top of it. You need to cut down that layer in order to see the full effect of those abs. All the ab exercises in the world won't show nice abs unless you trim that stomach fat. Another thing that I have found is that you should do a variety of different exercises, don't just stick to the same ab workout everytime you work out. There should be different things within your workout to generate better ab success. Some cardio, abdomine, and core exercises are great all around things to do. Hope that information gives you an idea of what areas need to be worked on for ab perfection.

A great Ab book I recommend is The Truth About Six-Pack Abs, Abdominals, this book really goes into detail and diet on how to get the abs you desire. Click the link above to check it out.

Also if you are searching for a program for yourself there is a great place to go. This site has over 100000 different programs and can focus a program on whatever need you have. Weight Loss, Muscle Mass, Fitness, and many more. You can find them at Workout Pass

Later this week I will be going a bit more in depth about the areas I touched on today. If you have any ideas and comments, please feel free to email or post your comment.

Talk to you all later.

That Time of Year... Again!

Hey Everyone, it's getting to be that time of year again. The hot weather is coming and is about that time for millions of people to start there pre summer dieting. I'm sure everyone is guilty for doing this at some point or another in the life. What I have realized is that, yes you need a decent diet plan and fitness in order to see unreal results and yes you have to be committed, but some people are just looking to lose that extra little bit before bathing suit season. For this type of weight loss, it may be easier then you think. For alot of people it is just a matter of cutting out some of their daily rituals. If you are anything like myself, I enjoy soda, chips, fast food, and the many other weight killers. I'm not saying I eat each of these things everyday all day but I do endulge in these goodies from time to time. Cutting out these little habits can make a big difference when it comes to the bathroom scale. Getting rid of all of these instantly is tough but the one thing that really helped me was substituting. I would find out health alternitives for these items and indulge in to the healthy choice instead of the bad one. Really it comes down to breaking the little habits we have. Instead of throwing back that Mr. Big as a evening snack, I would have fruit of my choice. Before you know it you will automatically choose the better food and I'm sure you will like what you see on the scale as well. In the next few days I will list some the alternitives I have used over time for my healthier choices.

If your looking for a fast weight loss plan to help you lose those extra pounds then take a look at this site here - www.fatloss4idiots.com you will be impressed.

See ya again soon,

Brett
